Luke 1:1-201 And it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered.
2 This census first took place while Quirinius was governing Syria. 3 So all went to be registered, everyone to his own city. 4 Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, 5 to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child. 6 So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. 7 And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. 8 Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. 10 Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. 11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. 12 And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.” 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: 14 “Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!” 15 So it was, when the angels had gone away from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, “Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us.” 16 And they came with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the Babe lying in a manger. 17 Now when they had seen Him, they made widely known the saying which was told them concerning this Child. 18 And all those who heard it marveled at those things which were told them by the shepherds. 19 But Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20 Then the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told them.

Father, thank You for being here with us for Christmas, for coming as a babe to save our world. Help us have a great study and a fun family time together. In Jesus name, amen!! Philippians 2:22-24 22 But you know his proven character, that as a son with his father he served with me in the gospel. 23 Therefore I hope to send him at once, as soon as I see how it goes with me. 24 But I trust in the Lord that I myself shall also come shortly. Fact 1: But you know his proven character, that as a son with his father he served me in the gospel. Meaning 1: Timothy was like a son to Paul, and they worked well together. He depended on Timothy greatly in his ministry and trusted him to go when Paul could not. Question 2: Do I have someone that I trust with my ministry and helps me in all aspects of being a help to others? Am I that kind of person for someone else as well? Fact 2: Therefore, I hope to send him at once, as soon as I see how it goes with me. But I trust in the Lord that I myself shall also come shortly. Meaning 2: Paul was waiting a bit to see if he would be able to come too. He had so many pressing things on him that he never knew when he could come and leave this area. Question 2: Do I go when God asks me to? Am I always ready to follow what God is asking of me at any time? Take Away!! I need to be willing to pick up my life and go where He asks me to go and be who He desires me to be. Father, thank You for reminding us that we need to be ready when You desire us to go. We can be helpful for others who does not have the time to go and do. In Jesus Name, amen!!
Father, please bless our time together and give us a good lesson before Christmas. It is a blessing to come to You and share Your word with others. Thank You for a good day and take care of all. In Jesus name amen. Philippians 2:19-21 19 But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you shortly, that I also may be encouraged when I know your state. 20 For I have no one like-minded, who will sincerely care for your state. 21 For all seek their own, not the things which are of Christ Jesus. Fact 1: But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you shortly, that I also may be encouraged when I know your state. Meaning 1: Timothy was able to go to different places and then come and tell Paul the truth of what was going on in the area. He did not just go to visit and tell Paul they were fine, he told it how it is. Question 1: Do I go to do things for myself, or do I go with the greater good in mind, learning how things truly are? Fact 2: For I have no one like-minded, who will sincerely care for your state. For all seek their own, not the things which art of Christ Jesus. Meaning 2: Timothy was one who was like-minded with Paul who cared about the churches and people like his own flock too and learned what was happening so he could tell Paul. They cared about what Jesus cared about in His people. Question 2: Do I listen and watch so that I know how things are going for others? Take Away!! I need to care more about people's relationship with Jesus and how they are doing in their walk with the Lord rather than the superficial things that people seem to care about. Father, thank You for a good study and reminder that we need to focus on relationships with others and how their relationship with Christ is. In Jesus Name, Amen!!
Father, we appreciate the love that You give and the animals that You share with us. We are blessed to know You in all areas of our lives. Give us a good study and bless this day. In Jesus name, amen!! Philippians 2:17-18 17 Yes, and if I am being poured out as a drink offering on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all. 18 For the same reason you also be glad and rejoice with me. Fact 1: Yes, and if I am being poured out as a drink offering on the sacrifice and service of your faith. I am glad and rejoice with you all. Meaning 1: Even when we are feeling like we have been the sacrifice during the service we do in faith we can rejoice in that time. During that time, we can grow and strengthen our lives in Him. Question 1: Do I grow when I am the sacrifice in the life we live? Do I hold onto God knowing that His will, will keep me standing even in the midst of pain? Fact 2: For the same reason you also be glad and rejoice with me. Meaning 2: Others should be rejoicing with us when our lives are being used for God and should rejoice when they are being used too. Question 2: Am I open to being used by God to further the gospel and bring others closer to Him? Take Away!! I need to remember that no matter what I am doing I can be used of God and need to be open to being used with a joyful heart. Father, thank You for a great message in just a couple verses. We need to be open to being used by You. In Jesus name, amen!!
Father, we so appreciate all that You do for us and for a book with Your treasures in it that we can study and know more about You and prayerfully become more like You. Open this scripture today and bless us all. In Jesus name, amen!! Philippians 2:14-16 14 Do all things without complaining and disputing, 15 that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, 16 holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain. Fact 1: Do all things without complaining and disputing, Meaning 1: We are to go about our day, doing the things asked of us without complaining and disputing. We should not grumble at the things we are to do in a day and be happy we are able to do them. Question 1: Am I a complainer? Do I do as God asks or do I grumble at what little we are asked to do? Fact 2: that you may become blameless and harmless children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world. Meaning 2: We need to shine in this world of darkness, be people that when others look for blame toward us they cannot find it. We are full of God and doing His work alone. Question 2: Do I work hard to do the things that God calls me to do? Am I one who lives a blameless life of love and joy in Jesus? Fact 3: holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain. Meaning 3: We need to hold fast to those words of life that God speaks out in His Bible to us and the things we learn each day about Him while we study. We are to run and not grow weary in the life God calls us to. Question 3: Do I do what I know is right and true? Am I one that holds onto God and takes off in the world each day for His will? Take Away!! I need to make sure that I am always doing what God asks of me and following the rules He lays out for our lives so that I will be blameless and following Jesus. Father, we are thankful for the reminder not to grumble and complain, but to do what You have asked in fullness of You. Give us a blessed day and lets make it a day of less grumbling. In Jesus Name, amen!!
Father, thank You for another day to worship You and learn more about how we should live for You. Keep us close to You and give us more strength to stand in You. In Jesus name, amen!! Philippians 2:12-13 12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; 13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. Fact 1: Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, Meaning 1: Paul was telling them that he was proud of them for standing for Jesus and living right even when he was not there to instruct them. Question 1: Do I stand for God daily? Am I one that Paul would be proud of for following what I know is right in Christ? Fact 2: work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. Meaning 2: Working out salvation, is what salvation means to me, and how God sees it for our salvation. We are to work out in our life about salvation and the known things Jesus desires us to do. Question 2: Do I spend each day making sure that my life is living as a saved child of God? Fact 3: for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. Meaning 3: God will work out all things in our lives when we put our full life in His hands and allow Him to direct us each day. We need to know that we are His fully. Question 3: Do I stand in what I know is right in Jesus? Does my life give others a direction for following God? Take Away!! I need to make sure my life speaks out about God even as small of a world my life touches. Father, thank You for reminding us to live the life that shows others who You are. In Jesus name, amen!!
Father, thank You for such a wonderful day today and help it to snow really good for Nana's birthday and putting up the tree. Help us to have a great study today and a blessing to us and others. In Jesus name amen!! Philippians 2:9-11 9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name, which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Fact 1: Therefore, God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name, which is above every name, Meaning 1: Jesus is highly exalted, God gave Him a name that is above all, His Son, and the Savior of the world. That name brings demons to their knees. Question 1: Do I tremble or be in awe of God when I hear the name? Is Jesus mean the world to me just by His name? Fact 2: that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, Meaning 2: One day all will bow before Jesus knowing who He is even if they have hated or ignored Him all of their lives, but it will be too late that day. Question 2: Do I bow now to the Son of God and worship Him in all things? Fact 3: and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Meaning 3: One day everyone will confess that Jesus is God and the Lord of all, but will they do this in time to find their way to heaven. Or will they find out on judgement day. Question 3: Do I confess Jesus? Do I stand before Him now and let all my sins out to Him so that He will know me when the time comes? Take Away!! I need to make sure that I am doing what I can to be more like Jesus and confess who He is to the people around me. I need to be the light that brings others to the Lord. Father, thank You so much for all the reminders that one day all will know You but it will not all be in time. I am thankful that I know You and know where I will be one day. In Jesus name amen,
Father, thank You for loving us and for sending Your Son to us so that we might be saved. It is great to study Your word and know that You love 'everyone' and died for every soul on earth. Bring those who do not know Your love to You. In Jesus name, amen1! Philippians 2:5-8 5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, 7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men .8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Fact 1: Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God. Meaning 1: We need Christ's mind in ours to lead us in the way of being more like God. We cannot get to be a better person without Christ working in and through us. Question 1: Do I work on being in the mind of Christ so that I am getting closer to the form of God? Do I believe that Jesus is equal to God and yet came as a man? Fact 2: but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant and coming in the likeness of men. Meaning 2: Jesus came as a human, a bondservant of God so that He could experience our lives in whole. Question 2: Do I live my life as close to Jesus as I can? Fact 3: And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Meaning 3: Jesus died a horrible death for us and He knew it was coming and asked God if there were any other way. His death was graphic, and He did it for us. Question 3: Do I live for Christ, in the love that caused Him to die for me? Am I standing with Him in all things in this life? Take Away!! I need to stand for Christ when it means the most and I need to find myself living a life that would be like Paul and go all out to be like Jesus. Father, thank You for a great study and a blessing for today to remember that we need to live our lives like Christ. In Jesus name, amen!!
Father, thank You for another day, please bring more snow. It would be amazing to have snow for Christmas again. Help us learn what You have for us in this passage. In Jesus name, amen!! Philippians 2:3-4 3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. 4 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others. Fact 1: Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, Meaning 1: When we do things for people, we should not do them to get praise and thanks for those things. And we should not do it to have something to hold over other people. Question 1: When I do things for friends, do I do it in love or just because I have to? Am I doing it for them or for my gain? Fact 2: but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Meaning 2: Our lives should be about helping others and getting them in joy. We get pleasure and peace when we put others' first in life. We should not think better of ourselves. Question 2: Do I work to help others and spend time with them sharing how important they are to God? Am I thinking better of those around me and caring what happens to them? Fact 3: Let each of you look out not only for his own interests but also for the interests of others. Meaning 3: We should not be focusing on what we need all the time, but on what others need. Our lives should resemble Jesus who loved and cared about His people. Question 3: Do I keep others held up and do things for them that will give them a blessing? Take Away!! I need to make sure that I am sharing with others the true meaning of love from God and acceptance, and strength. God gives us equal measure and we just need to use that measure. Father, thank You again for a great study and the blessing of doing for others as well. In Jesus name, amen!!
Father, thank You for another day and another time to celebrate You and Your love for us. Give us a good study and help us learn what You have for us. In Jesus name, amen!! Philippians 2:1-2 Therefore, if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, 2 fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord of one mind. Fact 1: Therefore, if there is any consolation in Christ, Meaning 1: Christ is there to consul and help us all the time, we just have to seek Him out and live in Him. We can also be there to consul others through Christ and allow others to be there for us. Question 1: Do I work to allow Jesus to consul others when they need it? Am I able to accept consolation from others through Christ? Fact 2: if any comfort of love, Meaning 2: When we love others and allow others to love us, we are giving comfort. If we are doing that in love, then we are working as the Lord and giving comfort to the needy and getting comfort for us. Question 2: Do I give others comfort in love? Do I go out of my way to give to others that are in my life whom I care about? Do I reach out to strangers? Fact 3: if any fellowship of the Spirit, Meaning 3: When we have fellowship with the Spirit and be in His presence daily, we have a great ability to do the things that the Lord has us to do. Being together as Christians brings that fellowship and love to each other. Question 3: Do I fellowship with others and try to meet their needs in life? Am I comforted by the fellowship that God wants us to have? Fact 4: if any affection and mercy Meaning 4: Affection and mercy, those are given freely by God, and we just have to stand up and take what He gives us. He is full up with mercy for our lives and we need that greatly. His love is above all other and we can bask in the knowledge that He is love. Question 4: Do I give out mercy to others and hold onto them no matter what God does through us? Have I learned to give mercy in my life? Am I learning to love with affection those that have hurt me? Fact 5: fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord of one mind. Meaning 5: We should have the same love for others, as we should love them the way that God loves us. Enough to give up His son, enough to die and be raised again. That is love. Question 5: Do I reach out and love others? Am I like minded with those who I spend my time with, those who love God like I do? Am I living a life that is likeminded in Christ? Take Away!! I need to make sure that those who I spend time with are of the same mind of Christ. To reach out and have compassion and love for those that God puts in my life. Father, thank You for Your love and the glory that You give to us. Help us all to be like minded in You and standing in the gap for each other. In Jesus Name, amen
