Father, I ask that You will touch us today and through the weekend and bless us for getting into Your Word and learning more about You. Give us a good message through the verses and a great rest of the day. In Jesus Name, Amen!! John 12:9-10 9 Now a great many of the Jews knew that He was there; and they came, not for Jesus’ sake only, but that they might also see Lazarus, whom He had raised from the dead. 10 But the chief priests plotted to put Lazarus to death also, 11 because on account of him many of the Jews went away and believed in Jesus. Fact 1: Now a great many of the Jews knew that He was there Meaning 1: Word spread quickly in those areas for no phone or TV or anything so it was just word of mouth that brought the Jews to visit with Jesus and the family. Question 1: Would I have been out spreading the word that Jesus was in town or would I be on my way to see Him right then? Fact 2: and they came, not for Jesus' sake only, but that they might also see Lazarus, whom, He had raised from the dead. Meaning 2: They also wanted to see for themselves if it was Lazarus and how he was after being raised from the dead. They wanted to see that he was really alive. Question 2: Would I have been excited for Jesus or Lazarus? Who would I have wanted to see first? Fact 3: But the chief priests plotted to put Lazarus to death also, because on account of him many of the Jews went away and believed in Jesus. Meaning 3: The chief priests were trying to find a way to do anything to discredit Jesus, and if they could kill Lazarus they hoped that others would come back and worship with them rather than with Jesus. Question 3: Do I do things that kill my witness for Jesus? Is my speech and actions always worthy of Jesus? Take Away!! I need to make sure that my speaking and actions reveal God to myself and others. That I would not be using words or doing actions that I would not want to do in front of Jesus. Father, thank You for a good study on how we should be people that are in Your will and doing all Your calling in our lives so others see You. In Jesus Name, Amen!!

Father, I come today and ask for a special blessing through this study and a great help in our time of need. We want to draw closer to You and come to know You better through this time. Please give us a good study and teach us much. In Jesus Name, Amen!! John 12:4-8 4 But one of His disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, who would betray Him, said, 5 “Why was this fragrant oil not sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor?” 6 This he said, not that he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief, and had the money box; and he used to take what was put in it. 7 But Jesus said, “Let her alone; she has kept this for the day of My burial. 8 For the poor you have with you always, but Me you do not have always.” Fact 1: But one of His disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, who would betray Him, said, "Why was this fragrant oil not sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor?" Meaning 1: Judas was worried about the money he could have taken and used rather than the people. Question 1: Do I ever see what I can get out of things rather than seeing what I can do for others? Does my mindset run in the getting instead of giving? Fact 2: This he said, not that he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief, and had the money box; and he used to take what was put in it. Meaning 2: Judas was a thief it says, he would take the money that they got and put it away for himself. He did not allow all the money brought in to go for witnessing to new people. Question 2: Do I spend money on me that should be put towards the kids or for things we need? Is my mind set that it is my money so I can spend on me? Fact 3: But Jesus said, "Let her alone; she has kept this for the day of My burial. For the poor you have with you always, but Me you do not have always." Meaning 3: Jesus knew that He was going to die soon and the others did not. So He was touched by her sacrifice to Him on that day. Jesus could see all that was coming. Question 3: Do I forget that Jesus sees the whole picture and not just what I can see? Do I know that He has a plan and I should worship Him and not worry about what happens in things I have no control over? Take Away!! I need to send up more sacrifices to the lord to honor Him, spending time with Him, witnessing for Him, and doing the things that would make others want to know Him and be His child and learn to make sacrifices for Him too. Father, thank You for a great study. Help us to spend more time worshipping You and being a child of You in great ways. Keep us giving ourselves to You and doing the things that will glorify You. In Jesus Name, Amen!!
Father, Hello, I come to You this day and ask that You would bless us with our study and give us great things to ponder and learn. We are so happy to be here each day to pray and study together. Say good morning to the world in the sunshine and life each morning. Thank You Father for being here for us. In Jesus Name, Amen!! John 12:1-3 Then, six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus was who had been dead, whom He had raised from the dead. 2 There they made Him a supper; and Martha served, but Lazarus was one of those who sat at the table with Him. 3 Then Mary took a pound of very costly oil of spikenard, anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the oil. Fact 1: Then, six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus was who had been dead, whom He had raised from the dead. Meaning 1: Jesus did not have to fear coming to the town where He wanted to be as He could not be touched until He was ready to give His life. Question 1: Do I have confidence in the Lord to take care of me until the appointed time? Do I allow Him to work and protect me in all things that I do? Fact 2: There they made Him a supper; and Martha served, but Lazarus was one of those who sat at the table with Him. Meaning 2: They were having dinner together at Lazarus house and Martha was serving the meal while the men talked. Question 2: Do I imagine what it would be like to have Jesus sitting at my table? Do I really realize that He is with me all the time now anyway? Fact 3: Then Mary took a pound of very costly oil of spikenard, anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with her hair. Meaning 3: It was common place to wash the feet of those who came to your house back then because they wore sandals and got dusty dirty feet. Question 3: Would I anoint and wipe Jesus feet with my hair? What would I do if Jesus showed up needing something? Fact 4: And the house was filled with the fragrance of oil. Meaning 4: It was a pound of oil and it filled the house with the fragrance of the oil for all to know that it had been done. Question 4: Do I give my best to God? Do I love Him so much that I will give Him the time and best I have? Take Away!! I need to work at giving the best to my Lord and doing the things that He asks me to do with joy and peace. I need to be on the chat and doing the things to help out. Father, thank You for a good study and reminder of the love that we should give to Jesus. Our best and our all each day to Him. Father, bless us as we go about our day and keep us close to You. In Jesus Name, Amen!!
Father, Thank You for another beautiful day and lots of summer style sunshine today. It looks beautiful even if the breeze is really cold. It is starting to be nice for it. I am so excited to keep up with our study and enjoy the time with You Lord. In Jesus Name, Amen!! John 11:55-57 55 And the Passover of the Jews was near, and many went from the country up to Jerusalem before the Passover, to purify themselves. 56 Then they sought Jesus, and spoke among themselves as they stood in the temple, “What do you think—that He will not come to the feast?” 57 Now both the chief priests and the Pharisees had given a command, that if anyone knew where He was, he should report it, that they might seize Him. Fact 1: And the Passover of the Jews was near; and many went from the country up to Jerusalem before the Passover to purify themselves. Meaning 1: There was a big travel in the land when the feasts were about to be done. The people would come to the temple to offer their sacrifice as that was the way that they stood clean before the Lord in those days. They did not have Jesus blood yet to cleanse them. Question 2: Do I appreciate the work that Jesus did so that I do not have to do a sacrifice to cleanse my life? Do I thank Him often for dying on the cross for my sins? Fact 2: Then they sought Jesus, Meaning 2: The people wanted to talk to Jesus and see Him, a lot of them had probably never got to sit under His teaching and wanted to meet Him and others wanted to see Him again. But they sought Jesus out and wanted to find Him. Question 2: Do I seek Jesus out? Do I talk to Him regularly? Do I thank Him for being just a breath away that all I have to do it speak and He hears everything and sees all that I do? Fact 3: and spoke among themselves as they stood in the temple, "What do you think-that He will not come to the feast?" Meaning 3: The people were talking about Him and searching for Him and He was the topic of conversation in that area. People knew that the Jews wanted to kill Him so they were not sure He would come to Passover. Question 3: Is Jesus the topic of my conversations? Do I talk about Him and think about Him more than other things? Fact 4: Now both the chief priests and the Pharisees had given a command, that if anyone knew where He was, he should report it, that they might seize Him. Meaning 4: They wanted to kill Him so bad, He was gathering followers and taking people away from their control They could not handle losing the power they had possessed so long. Question 4: Do I not want to give things up for Jesus? Am I willing to do what He asks in letting go of things and focusing on Him? Take Away!! I need to focus more on Jesus and spend time doing things that will glorify Him and be a blessing to others. When I talk I need to be more aware of the things I say and the way that I talk. Father, thank You for a good study, what a blessing to me and I hope to all who read this. In Jesus Name, Amen!!
Father, thank You for another week and another chance to learn what You would have us know in our schooling. I pray that You would be with our teachers and help them as they try to teach around covid restrictions and things. Help us to get a good message from this study and have an amazing week. In Jesus Name, Amen!! John 11:51-54 51 Now this he did not say on his own authority; but being high priest that year he prophesied that Jesus would die for the nation, 52 and not for that nation only, but also that He would gather together in one the children of God who were scattered abroad. 53 Then, from that day on, they plotted to put Him to death. 54 Therefore Jesus no longer walked openly among the Jews, but went from there into the country near the wilderness, to a city called Ephraim, and there remained with His disciples. Fact 1: Now this he did not say on his own authority, but being high priest that year he prophesied that Jesus would die for the nation. and not for that nation only. Meaning 1: Caiaphas was the high priest and he was trying to tell them that Jesus would die for the nation and all the world. He was supposed to know things and people listened to him. Question 2: Who would I trust back then, the high priest that we were taught to listen to all the time or the man of God who spoke and did miracles? Fact 2: but also that He would gather together in one the children of God who were scattered abroad. Meaning 2: He also knew that Jesus was going to bring all the people to Him that were scattered from around the world. He just did not know it would take more than a thousand years to bring them back. Question 2: Do I think that the Jews are back in Jerusalem or are they still scattered around? What should we do to support Israel now? How can we support it with government who wants to kill it off too? Fact 3: Then, from that day on, they plotted to put Him to death. Meaning 3: The Jewish leaders did not want to lose anymore of their followers and so they decided death of Jesus would be the way to get rid of Him and His teaching. Question 3: Would I stand by Jesus when He was about to die? Do I now have a strength that I will stand and die for Jesus? Would I have a reason to deny Jesus and live? NO!! Fact 4: Therefore Jesus no longer walked openly among the Jews, but went from there into the country near the wilderness to a city called Ephraim, and there remained with His disciples. Meaning 4: Jesus was leaving the place that wanted to kill Him because He was not ready to give up His life yet. He had much to teach the disciples and so we have much to teach those around us. Stand strong and do not falter, God holds us up. Question 4: Would I still walk openly for Jesus until it is my time to die? Am I brave enough to stand for the right to worship and learn and teach others about Jesus? Take Away!! I need to make sure that I would put nothing ahead of God and His salvation and life. I need to stand to death if it has to be NOT to give up my faith and deny Jesus. I would rather die than deny Jesus and hope that if I get the chance, I stand. Father, thank You for a great reminder of who we are in You and what we need to be willing to do to live for You totally. This US is getting to the point that we might have to do that soon. Give us strength and character to stand for You no matter what. In Jesus Name, Amen!!
Call to Prayer!!Life will never stop being hard. We can be out best and give our all and that is important in our lives, but we should not be a slave to our schedules. We are free in Christ and should make time to spend with the Lord. We need that time to pray and it will take out the pressures and will give you rest and contentment. All you have to do is ask and He will show you what to do. It is helpful to listen to a good friend, or someone who knows God too. You might not want to hear what they say, but listen to them.
at a time and allow You to take care of the tomorrow. When we get pressures that we do not need, show us and help us to fix it. Then we will be walking in Your ways. In Jesus Name, Amen!

It is the weekend, and we are going to have a big BBQ and games at the estates today. We have been cooped up and now the weather is nice and covid has not come to our homes and we all are together here all the time anyway so we are going to have a spring fun time. Good weather is wonderful. I cannot believe it is almost summer. |
There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God,
The holy place of the tabernacle of the Most High.
5 God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved;
God shall help her, just at the break of dawn.
6 The nations raged, the kingdoms were moved;
He uttered His voice, the earth melted.
Meaning 1: The river could mean the tunnel King Hezekiah built to bring water to the city even during a war they were glad to have water, and as a people they are glad to have the river of God flowing into them. We have the water of life through our Lord.
Question 1: Do I realize how important that river of God is to us? Do we stand in the way of the Lord and have open that river to us?
Fact 2: God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved; God shall help her, just at the break of dawn.
Meaning 2: God cannot be moved, and He will not move away from us. We have Him with us at all times. He is our river of living water and a greatness of Himself He gives freely to us.
Question 2: Do I see the greatness of God working in my life? Do I hold onto Him and walk with Him so He is there to help in times of trouble and hardships?
Fact 3: The nations raged, the kingdoms were moved; He uttered His voice, the earth melted.
Meaning 3: God does not need to use strength to do things in the world. All He has to do is speak and it is so. We need to learn to pray and lean on God forever more and He will be with us and over us in all things. Give to God fully.
Question 3: Do I allow God to work in my life? Or do I try to take things away from Him and do it myself? Do I allow Him to work in me all the time?
I need to allow the streams of God to make me happy and glad. That He is feeding into me and providing for me daily. Even when I do not see His hand at work in my life I can rest assured that He is working and I am safe in His hands.
45 Then many of the Jews who had come to Mary, and had seen the things Jesus did, believed in Him. 46 But some of them went away to the Pharisees and told them the things Jesus did. 47 Then the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered a council and said, “What shall we do? For this Man works many signs. 48 If we let Him alone like this, everyone will believe in Him, and the Romans will come and take away both our place and nation.”49 And one of them, Caiaphas, being high priest that year, said to them, “You know nothing at all, 50 nor do you consider that it is expedient for us that one man should die for the people, and not that the whole nation should perish.”
Meaning 1: Exactly what Jesus wanted and knew would happen. More people believed with His miracles. He must have been frustrated at them needing so much to believe, but glad that they were seeing the truth and learning just who He really was.
Question 1: Do I have to have things happen in my life to believe? Do I just want Jesus to be with me even with no miracles? Do I lean and learn on Him for all things needed? Am I growing in Him all the time?
Fact 2: But some of them, when away to the Pharisees and told them the things Jesus did.
Meaning 2: You always have the trouble makers in the group, People who want to go and tell the biggest bully what is said and done.
Question 2: Am I good at sharing the miracles of Jesus in a way that uplifts and encourages those around me? Do I stand for Him in all my speech and the words that come out of my mouth?
Fact 3: Then the chief priests and Pharisees gathered a council and said, "What shall we do? For this Man works many signs. If we let Him, alone like this, everyone will believe in Him, and the Romans will come and take away both our place and nation."
Meaning 3: They were only worried about their power and the living arrangements that the Romans were allowing the Pharisees to have. They have no real care about the truth or the people or the future of the people but themselves.
Question 3: Do I care about me more than I care about the things of God? Do I put myself first and then others? Am I learning to change that as I study Your Word and grow?
Fact 4: And one of them, Caiaphas, being high priest that year, said to them, "You know nothing at all, nor do you consider that it is expedient for us that one man should die for the people, and not that the whole nation should perish."
Meaning 4: Caiaphas wanted Jesus dead so that He would stop gathering people to Himself and having so many believe in Jesus as the Messiah. They could not believe that a humble carpenter would or could be their Messiah, they wanted Him to come in power.
Question 4: Do I ever get so focused on looking for Jesus in power that I forget to listen to the still small voice speaking to me? Am I standing in His presence or am I walking around not knowing which way to go this time?
I need to focus my life and eyes on Jesus better and stand for Him each day. I need to watch His miracles too, but listen to that small voice that is talking to me.
41 Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead man was lying. And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. 42 And I know that You always hear Me, but because of the people who are standing by I said this, that they may believe that You sent Me.” 43 Now when He had said these things, He cried with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth!” 44 And he who had died came out bound hand and foot with graveclothes, and his face was wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Loose him, and let him go.”
Meaning 1: They had no idea what was going to happen, but Jesus had the authority to get them to do as He asked. They were all in shock and probably really wondered why Jesus was doing this.
Question 1: Do I obey when Jesus is telling me what to do even when I see no reason for it? Am I good at doing what He asks of me?
Fact 2: And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, "Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. And I know that You always hear Me, but because of the people who are standing by I said this that they may believe that You sent Me."
Meaning 2: Jesus thanked God for hearing Him so those around would know this miracle is from God and not from elsewhere. He wanted us to know that God ordained this miracle.
Question 2: When something exciting happens in my life, do I make sure to share it with others so that God is given the glory? Do I notice what He does so that God would have the glory?
Fact 3: Now when He had said these things, He cried with a loud voice, "Lazarus, come forth!:
Meaning 3: Everyone probably thought that Jesus was far reaching here, but there must have been a hope in their hearts as well. Could Jesus really bring Lazarus back from the dead. They had to wonder.
Question 3: Do I ever doubt God or think that what I need is too big of a request? Am I shocked when He answers or do I expect God to do miracles in my life? Can we expect that God gives us miracles still?
Fact 4: And he who had died came out bound hand and foot with graveclothes, and his face was wrapped with a cloth, Jesus said to them, "Loose him, and let him go."
Meaning 4: When poor Lazarus came out all bound up everyone must have really gotten and shock and fear both. That would be a WOW thing for sure. You would not know how to think of it.
Question 4: Could I even fathom the shock factor in that day of bringing someone back from the grave? Specially in a time with no modern medical?
I need to watch for and thank God for the miracles in my life. The things that at the time might not have seen so big, but is now seen as a huge thing. For the big things that I miss when I am not paying attention to what He is doing.
38 Then Jesus, again groaning in Himself, came to the tomb. It was a cave, and a stone lay against it. 39 Jesus said, “Take away the stone.” Martha, the sister of him who was dead, said to Him, “Lord, by this time there is a stench, for he has been dead four days.” 40 Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?”
Meaning 1: Jesus was feeling the pain of others, but He knew what He was going to do that day.
Question 1: Do I feel the pain of others when I go to comfort them? Do I know that God is going to work in each situation that happens to us all the time?
Fact 2: Jesus said, "Take away the stone."
Meaning 2: Jesus was ready for His miracle and ready to show the world that He has commandment of death as well.
Question 2: Do I know that my Jesus has commandment of all things in life? Do I hang onto that knowledge?
Fact 3: Martha the sister of him who was dead, said to Him, "Lord, by this time there is a stench, for he has been dead four days."
Meaning 3: Martha still had no clue what He was doing. She did not believe that He was going to bring him back. She was still thinking that he would rise the last day. Jesus had other ideas.
Question 3: Do I disbelieve what God is doing in our lives at times? Do I feel as though He is not able to do what He is working at? Do I forget just who my God is?
Fact 4: Jesus said to her, "Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?"
Meaning 4: He reminded her what He had told her when she came to Him. That Lazarus was going to rise again. That his death was for the glory of God to be shown around there.
Question 4: Do I have trouble taking in the things that Jesus is doing in my life? Does it make me unsure of what is going to happen?
I need to learn to trust more and expect the amazing works of God more in our lives. He can do so much when we allow Him to work. Thank You Jesus for that work that You do.
