~ Psalm 19:7-8 ~7 The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; 8 The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes; 7 The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; Meaning 7: God's law keep us working to be a better soul and converting us to do what is right in the sight of the Lord. God's testimony makes us wise and know what to work for in our lives. Question 7: Do I work at allowing the law and testimony of the Lord change my life to be more like Jesus? 8 The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart. The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. Meaning 8: When we follow the statutes of the Lord then our hearts will rejoice in what we do. His commandments are pure and open the eyes to the things that we should do. Question 8: Do I follow the things that God puts forward and allow His presence to fill me with the purity that He alone gives to us? Take Away!!
We need to work to walk in a way that is pleasing to the Lord and enlightening to us.

Meaning 5: In our bodies is the tabernacle that we talked about yesterday, And the joy like the wedding day or a strong man to run the race. You come out with joy, expectations and anticipation to start what you are doing next. Question 5: Do I look at each new day with anticipation to spread the Word of the Lord daily? Do I have joy at each new day? 6 Its rising is from one end of heaven, And its circuit to the other end; And there is nothing hidden from its heat. Meaning 6: That sun in our tabernacle rises inside of us and covers the work of our lives to make us productive in that joy and anticipation. Question 6: Do I allow the Son to shine through me and make others want the joy that He brings. Take Away!!
I need to start each day with joy and anticipation and follow the desires of the Lord God. ~ Psalm 19:3-4 ~3 There is no speech nor language Where their voice is not heard. 4 Their line has gone out through all the earth, And their words to the end of the world. In them He has set a tabernacle for the sun, 3 There is no speech nor language Where their voice is not heard. Meaning 3: No matter what you are doing or saying, we see the creation praising God even if they do not speak. Question 3: Do I stand and listen to creation at any point or am I just wanting to be heard? 4 Their line has gone out through all the earth, And their words to the end of the world. In them He has set a tabernacle for the sun, Meaning 4: Creation is everywhere and in everything we see or do. It is amazing to see what God has created for the sun to shine on. Question 4: Do I appreciate where I live in the beauty that God has created? Take Away!!
We need to really spend some time praising God for the creation that is around us. ~ Psalm 19:1-2 ~1 The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork. 2 Day unto day utters speech, And night unto night reveals knowledge. 1 The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork. Meaning 1: Creation is amazing, we have the heavens and the firmament or earth and all on it that shows off the great creation that He did. Question 1: Do I honor and praise the Lord for all He has created and brought to life for us? 2 Day unto day utters speech, And night unto night reveals knowledge. Meaning 2: Day unto day the creations speaks out about the creator we can see and hear creation and the night we see the amazing sights that only God could have created. Question 2: Do I listen to all of creation and work at getting it in my mind of what all God created? Take Away!!
I need to take time to praise God for the amazing life He created in this earth and above us in the heavens ~ Psalm 18:49-50 ~49 Therefore I will give thanks to You, O Lord, among the Gentiles, And sing praises to Your name. 50 Great deliverance He gives to His king, And shows mercy to His anointed, To David and his descendants forevermore. 49 Therefore I will give thanks to You, O Lord, among the Gentiles, And sing praises to Your name. Meaning 49: David is not talking about praising God and even the Gentiles are learning to praise God for His greatness. Question 49: Do I spend enough time praising God? Do I allow that praise to make my feelings stronger about my God? 50 Great deliverance He gives to His king, And shows mercy to His anointed, To David and his descendants forevermore. Meaning 50; David's people needed deliverance many times, the disobeyed every time they turn around. Just as we need that same deliverance and mercy that they need we need as well. Question 50: Do I work at being obedient so that I am not always needing mercy from God? Am I working towards the way I know God desires we to get to at some point in life? Take Away!!
I need to work at being obedient and not needing deliverance and mercy all the time ~ Psalm 18:46-48 ~46 The Lord lives! Blessed be my Rock! Let the God of my salvation be exalted. 47 It is God who avenges me, And subdues the peoples under me; 48 He delivers me from my enemies. You also lift me up above those who rise against me; You have delivered me from the violent man. 46 The Lord lives! Blessed be my Rock! Let the God of my salvation be exalted. Meaning 46: This verse was one of my favorite songs from my youth. We loved this upbeat song at camps and Sunday school. It is a great praise to the Lord. Question 46: Do we still praise the Lord in our hearts in an amazing feeling inside with Love for Him? 47 It is God who avenges me, And subdues the peoples under me; Meaning 47: We have to let God be the one that takes vengeance for us. He alone can do the one thing that makes a difference. Question 47: Do we try to enact punishment on others or do we let God do that for us? 48 He delivers me from my enemies. You also lift me up above those who rise against me; You have delivered me from the violent man. Meaning 48: God has delivered us more times than we know. Little traffic issues to bigger things, we just do not know about all the times that He saves us from harm. Question 48: Do I trust God to do the things that need done in our lives when things are difficult? Do we want to know all the times He has saved us? Take Away!!
We need to take seriously that God takes care of our enemies and will protect us or allow things that we need to go through to grow in Him. ~ Psalm 18:43-45 ~43 You have delivered me from the strivings of the people; You have made me the head of the nations; A people I have not known shall serve me. 44 As soon as they hear of me, they obey me. The foreigners submit to me. 45 The foreigners fade away, And come frightened from their hideouts. 43 You have delivered me from the strivings of the people; You have made me the head of the nations; A people I have not known shall serve me. Meaning 43: David talking about the place that God had set him up at because he tried to obey God and do what was right. Question 43: God knows what is in our heart and helps us obey and do the right things, Do I do this? Is my life showing that I care about what God says? 44 As soon as they hear of me they obey me; The foreigners submit to me. Meaning 44: David was a king to be feared and obeyed, God gave him the stamina and blessings needed to make people obey. Question 44: Do I have a ministry that I take charge in the lord?? Do i have people that want to obey the Lord and look to me? 45 The foreigners fade away, And come frightened from their hideouts. Meaning 45: Those that were oppressing others have gone away with the rule of King David, and those who were afraid were able to come out of their hideouts and follow king David. Question 45: Do I give people confidence to follow the Lord? Take Away!!
I need to be following the example of Jesus and the ones He teaches about so that I bring out the good in others. ~ Psalm 18:40-42 ~40 You have also given me the necks of my enemies, So that I destroyed those who hated me. 41 They cried out, but there was none to save; Even to the Lord, but He did not answer them. 42 Then I beat them as fine as the dust before the wind; I cast them out like dirt in the streets. 40 You have also given me the necks of my enemies, so that I destroyed those who hated me. Meaning 40: Our sins are trying to destroy us and the enemy is helping them, we need to destroy the things that we have allowed in to destroy our walk with the Lord. Question 40: Do I get away from and destroy the sins that so easily beset me? 41 They cried out, but there was none to save; Even to the Lord, but He did not answer them. Meaning 41: Our sins beg to be allowed in our lives? the ones that tempt us to sin are allowed in our lives, but we can get rid of them through Jesus. God will not help them but He will help us. Question 41: Do I cry out for help in destroying life sins and walking in Jesus instead? 42 Then I beat them as fine as the dust before the wind; I cast them out like dirt in the streets. Meaning 42: We have the opportunity to ground up our sinful life and get rid of them. We need to work at casting the sins that beset us out. Question 42: Am I working up to grinding my sins to a powder and tossing them away? Take Away!!
We need to work at getting rid of sins to a point they will not come back. ~ Psalm 18:37-39 ~37 I have pursued my enemies and overtaken them; Neither did I turn back again till they were destroyed. 38 I have wounded them, So that they could not rise; They have fallen under my feet. 39 For You have armed me with strength for the battle; You have subdued under me those who rose up against me. 37 I have pursued my enemies and overtaken them; Neither did I turn back again till they were destroyed. Meaning 37: They were obeying the Lord; it is said in the Bible that they were supposed to destroy all their enemies and wipe them off the earth, so they did not have trouble with them again. The same thing they are trying to do to Israel now. This is what we need to do with our sins. Question 37: Do I totally wipe out the enemy of sin in my heart when I want to change my life? Or do I keep some of the pieces for later? 38 I have wounded them, So that they could not rise; They have fallen under my feet. Meaning 38: the sins that we commit should be more than wounded but fallen dead around our lives. Question 38: Do we live it when we fight our sins? Do we get rid of all that is oppressing us down? 39 For You have armed me with strength for the battle; You have subdued under me those who rose up against me. Meaning 39: God gives us the strength and out to get away and leave our sins behind, we just have to take what He gives us and put away sin. Question 39: Am I taking what God provides to squash sin out of my life? Take Away!!
We need to know that God is giving us strength and use it not fight against it. ~ Psalm 18:35-36 ~ 35 You have also given me the shield of Your salvation; Your right hand has held me up, Your gentleness has made me great. 36 You enlarged my path under me, So my feet did not slip. 35 You have also given me the shield of Your salvation; Your right hand has held me up, Your gentleness has made me great. Meaning 35: We have the shield from dying with the Salvation of the Lord. We will go to heaven when we receive Jesus for our salvation. God holds me up with his right hand. and the gentleness is more to us than we even realize. Question 35: Do we give our lives over to God to take care of us? Are we asking God to shield us? 36 You enlarged my path under me, So, my feet did not slip. Meaning 36: When we need a place to rest our weary lives, He will give us more path and does not allow our feet to slip on the path that we are taking in Him. We have to go to Him and follow Him. Question 36: Do we be sure that when God gives us a better path so we do not slip into sin? Take Away!!
We need to follow God and give Him our lives so that He can take it on to give us more. |
