~ Day 5 Tuesday ~Our world started out perfect, humans were happy on the earth with their lives and they were not cold or hot in their lives. They got to walk with God and talk to Him. They had no heartaches or worries, no aches and pains. Then they disobeyed God and chose sin and the devil over God. They lost the Garden of Eden. Genesis 3:7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings. When they first knew something was evident in their lives, was when they realized they were naked. They had not known that until they sinned. They had taken their eyes off God and put it on the world and themselves. This is what sin does, it takes the center of your thoughts, attention, and devotion that should be on God and puts it on yourself. What was the first thing they did when they found that they were naked? Grab fig leaves and tried to cover their nakedness. The first thing was "They tried to hide their sin from God." The same thing that we try to do in our lives today, we do not want people to see that we are doing evil, and we work at covering it up. Once God got them to admit their sin and come forth he killed an innocent little animal and made coverings for Adam and Eve. Before that all the animals were friendly and tame. They relied on Adam and Eve to care for them and the garden in a simple way. It was a blessed existence. God put Adam and Eve there in His presence in a perfect paradise. Then God drove them out of the garden, and we have all been trying to get back into the presence of God ever since. It starts with the loss of Eden and the paradise, and will end with the regain in Revelation. We are going to one day be back in paradise thanks to Jesus providing that way through His death. ~ Code Word: Sacrifice ~Hebrews 9:22 And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission. As the animal had to die to cover Adam and Eves sin so Jesus needed to sacrifice His life for our sins which are many. Jesus went willingly to the cross to die so that we can be saved. ~ Can You Memorize |
