Father, we want to bring our lives up to You that we will stay focused on You and do the things we can to better ourselves into people of God. Salvation first and then works for You. In Jesus Name Amen!! 1 Thessalonians 5:16-22 16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 19 Do not quench the Spirit. 20 Do not despise prophecies. 21 Test all things; hold fast what is good. 22 Abstain from every form of evil. Fact 1: Rejoice Always Meaning 1: Simple but profound, rejoice always does not mean you will be happy always, but we are to find joy in the Lord even during hard times. Joy is the fulfillment of God's love inside. Question 1: Do we realize that we can have joy from God in all things? Do we know how to rejoice in Jesus even when our lives are not as we want? Fact 2 pray without ceasing Meaning 2: This does not mean that you have to stand around praying all day while you try to work. You should have an attitude of prayer, when your mind starts working on something, especially a bad thought, turn your mind back to the Lord and pray when you have time to think, and keep ready and pray. Your whole life's attitude can be thought through prayer. Question 2: Do I keep an attitude of prayer all day? Am I taking time to redirect my mind to prayer when it starts thinking of other things I do not need to think of? Fact 3: in everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Meaning 3: We should be a thankful person who shares the love of Jesus to others by not complaining all the time but sharing thanks for all the things that we see that God "is" doing for us. It is God's will than you will give thanks for all that He does. Question 3: Am I a thankful person or do I complain too much? Do I tell people that He is God and in me and I am thankful? Fact 4: Do not quench the Spirit Meaning 4: When we start living for the Lord we have a lot of times that we go and do things that we know is not right but we do it anyway. The Spirit will try to tell us to go God's way and we do not listen and do the wrong thing, not allowing the Spirit of God to shine through us. Question 4: Do I keep the Spirit foremost in my life so that I am living from His power in my life and doing all I can to show Him to the world around me? Fact 5: Do not despise prophecies Meaning 4: We are not to ignore the prophecies that God teaches us in the old and new testament. It says that we do not despise them, we are supposed to be reaching out and grasping all that God has to teach us. Question 4: Do I watch the prophecies and learn as much about knowing that God is coming back? What do I have to do to share those things with others around me? Fact 6: Test all things; hold fast what is good. Meaning 6: When someone teaches us or tells us something about living for God or going about our daily life we need to take that to scripture and test it. Make sure that it aligns up with what the Bible teaches in context. Question 6: Do I spend enough time in the word and studying that I can tell when someone is teaching me a wrong thing? Do I go home on things I am not sure of and look them up in the word? Fact 7: Abstain from every form of evil. Meaning 7: This does not mean that we are not just supposed to 'not' do evil, but keep from the appearance of evil to others. If you are doing something the Bible talks against, then you are showing others that it is ok. If you profess God's love we need to live it. Question 7: Do I stand and does my life resemble a Godly one? Am I living in a way that puts no question to the fact that Jesus has saved me and I live for Him? Take Away!! I need to make sure that I am living the life God wants me to live, here are a few things that we need to do to have a godly life in Jesus. Father,

Be at peace among yourselves. 14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn those who are unruly, comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all. 15 See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all. Fact 1: And we urge you, brethren, to recognize those who labor among you and are over you in the Lord and admonish you, Meaning 1: We are to know that those God put over us like elders and pastors we should listen to them. It talks in 1st Timothy that we are to make sure our elders and pastors are worthy, then follow them with all our hearts and lives. Trust is a big part of it. Question 1: Do I recognize who God has put before me? Do I remember that we are all flawed, but can live for Him by following our church leaders? Fact 2: and to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. Meaning 2: We have to realize that it is not easy for them to be over us and have the qualifications that God set forward. Question 4: Do I try to uplift those around me and encourage them to be closer to God? Fact 5: See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all. Meaning 5: We are to pursue what is good for us and those around us. We are the light that others see and see in Jesus. We need to portray that and live it. Question 5: Do I live what I know is right and true? Am I standing in the gap for others and showing them how to live? Take Away!! I need to make sure that I am being the person that God has commanded us to be so that I am a help and not a hindrance to others. Father, thank You for reminding us that we are to live a life that is over and above normal human living. Changing us to be who You desire us to be. In Jesus Name, Amen!!
Father, we ask that You spend time with us and give us direction so as not to lead anyone astray. In Jesus Name Amen!! 1 Thessalonians 5:8-11 8 But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation. 9 For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him. 11 Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing. Fact 1: But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation Meaning 1: We are to be aware of what is going on around us and focus on life and not ways to put us out. Question 3: Do I plan on seeing the loved ones when we get to heaven? Am I ready to go home one day? Fact 4: Therefore, comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing. Meaning 4: They were reminding each other that the time was coming. Comforting each other for the return and the fact that once you passed away you would be with the Lord. Question 4: Do I use these words to comfort people around me that knows where we are going? Am I trying to get others to Jesus, so that they also can go to heaven? Take Away!! I need to be sure that I am sharing Jesus with everyone I can so that they know the joy of having a sure thing to happen when Jesus comes to get us. Father, thank You for the reminder that the end draws near and we will be coming home to You when we have accepted Jesus. You love us all and all the ways that we can. In Jesus Name, Amen!!
Father, I ask that You share something with us today that will change our hearts and lives while we study. In Jesus Name, Amen!! 1 Thessalonians 5:4-7 4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. 5 You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. 7 For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk are drunk at night. Fact 1: But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. Meaning 1: They knew some of what we know today of the prophecy and were talking about the rapture not coming as a thief. For the second coming not as a thief. We can know the seasons and times that show His coming, just not the day or hour He comes. Question 1: Do I study the prophecy to see the times? Do I listen to the Jews and their knowledge of the feasts and times they believe He is coming? How much can we know, so that we are not caught off guard? Fact 2: You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. Meaning 2: We are of God, which means we love to do the things He desires and not hide away evil that we are doing. Our lives should be a bright and vibrant life. Question 2: Do I live like I am in the light? Is my life showing the day of Jesus coming? Fact 3: Therefore, let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. Father, I thank You for bringing us together and for sharing Your word with us. We are so blessed to study each day. In Jesus Name, Amen!! 1 Thessalonians 5:1-3 But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. 2 For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. 3 For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. Fact 1: But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write you. Meaning 1: This one could be two-fold in your thinking. It could mean that men have no need-to-know what time and season that Jesus would return. OR it could also be that as the Jews even today believe that the feast of trumpets is the time that He would come back and they already knew that so he did not have to share with them. Question 1: Which way do I think? Is September when the feast of trumpets are celebrated the time that Jesus will return? Fact 2: For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words. Fact 1: For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. Am I more importantly ready to go and be with God? Is my heart right and true to God? Fact 4: And thus, we shall be with the Lord. Meaning 4: What a glorious day that will be. We will live in heaven with Him and those around us for always. Question 4: Am I ready? Fact 5: Therefore, comfort one another with these words. His word is true and we will see those gone before again when they knew Jesus as savior. Question 2: Do I know without a doubt that Jesus will answer true and that I can expect Him to come soon? Take Away!! I need to remember that I must not be sad when those I love and know that are saved go before me, they are happy in heaven. Father, Thank You for sharing a reminder today that we know Jesus word is true and that He will come back and those who went before us will be there too. In Jesus Name, Amen!!
