That was all for today, I will probably sleep some tomorrow and not see out much as we will be up all night tonight for New Year 2022.

Today mama ordered the train ticket for Ninsi to catch the train home, she also got her second book, the USA skate outfit for her and the frosty knitted sweater and matching skirt. They should all be home at the same time. She is excited to be on her way.
That was all she had for her little trip out today, if she sees anything she wants to share, one of us will share with you. Have a good night!!
When you are home all day and stuck inside because of your health you have to find something worth doing and so she sews. And has lots of fabric that they bought the last 10 years on the coast trips. So she is set for fabric, and we are good on thread and elastic. She can sew her heart out. She puts some in the store and sends some to the cancer girls. And sees what is left to do more of later on. One of her friends got her into historical clothing and she is loving them. She has had to learn patience a lot with hand sewing on the historical things, and now she would rather hand stitch modern clothing too. Not the whole thing, just like lining and stuff she used to stitch in a ditch with. We are happy with this machine it is so quiet. It has as many if not more fun stitches on it for hems and decor. We made a jacket today that did not fit well. She wasted her time she says. It is getting scraped and she is making two dresses tomorrow that she already made that pattern and knows it fits. She printed the jacket at 110% so it is a bit bigger than the original. One day she will try it out and see what it looks like. But tomorrow we are making a for sure dress or two.
Someone will be here in the next couple days to share the new dresses we are not going to have them done tomorrow. They are not that easy of a pattern it will take a couple days for two.
Luminaria!! |
This was a simple dress to sew up and looks really nice finished. It was our first Luminaria that we have sewn. She does not do any pinning, which we took the time to pin the dress and iron which she says to do. We like her simple working pattern. We did hand stitch the lining down rather than do a top stitch for the lining. We like the look of hand stitching. They had an ugly button on the photo of the button for the back, we put small white buttons on the back and stitched up the dress in back in a different way too. I like the look of the back sewn up together not on top of each other. The pattern has a historical hat that goes with it, but I do not want a historical dress right now so we did a bow instead. We have more Luminaria patterns that we are now excited to try to sew up. It should be good to sew them up too. We are ready to make some of them when we finish this set cut out. | They wanted a sash and I loved this soft ribbon sheer with the top and bottom a ribbon. It looks amazing with this outfit. We are going to tack it down so that it stays with the dress, I hate when they fall off. Like I said it was a basic and simple pattern and left you a lot of thinking yourself for how you like to put things together. I loved this pattern for the most part and only changed a couple things. It is good to have the options to do what you like to do for dresses. Last two dress photos, we are just loving this dress and it was a simple day sewing as well. |
We had a lot of fun trying to do some poses for the photos, but there is really just so many ways to pose in life. We will have to get more creative this year. We did it this year at least after next week it will be this year done. We had fun getting everyone out to take a family photo and then an individual photo of each of us. It was fun to make sure everyone got a photo in the year. We want to do something a bit different this year. | We are trying to decide how to do next year's contest. It is take a photo every week for the whole year. We are thinking of doing a photo of the panic room each week during the year, it would mean six of us per photo. |

Christians were oppressed and no Bibles or crosses could be owned at the time. One man found this oppression distressing and wished he could share the love of Jesus and the joy of Christmas with the rest of the world. When Christmas came around, children didn’t get to see nativity scenes or enjoy learning about the truth of Christmas. |
His prayer led to an idea
The Candy Cane.
- The Shepherd's Staff: He chose to make the candy cane in the shape of a shepherd’s staff. After all, Jesus is the shepherd to his followers and the Bible notes that the “sheep” would hear His voice and follow him (Psalm 23:1, John 10:11, John 10:27-30, Isaiah 40:11).
- The Letter J for Jesus:Not only was the candy cane in the shape of a staff, but when held upside down, it formed a “J,” which stood for Jesus (Luke 1:31, Matthew 1:21).
- He is A Rock: The candy maker chose hard candy for the candy cane, which was done to remind children that Jesus was our “rock,” dependable and strong (Psalm 31:3).
- By His Stripes: Wide red stripes were added to the candy cane, representative of the crucifixion and the blood Jesus shed for our sins.
- Red-His Shed Blood: Through his blood, we are given salvation and life (Revelation 1:5, John 3:16, Luke 22:20).
- White-Purification from Sin: There are also white stripes on the candy cane, which represents the holiness, and purity of Jesus, who was sinless (I John 1:7).
- Sweet Fragrance of Christ: Peppermint was the flavor that the candy maker chose for the candy cane. Peppermint was very similar to hyssop, which was used for sacrifice and purification in the Old Testament, reminding us of the sacrifice that Jesus made for us. It also reminds us of the spices brought by the Wise Men when they came to visit Jesus (Psalm 51:7, John 10:29, Matthew 2:11).
- Broken For Us: Of course, when the candy cane is eaten, it is often broken, which the candy maker meant as a reminder that when Jesus was crucified, his body was broken (I Cor. 11:24).
- Love of Christ: The candy cane was also made to be given as a gift, representing the love of Jesus when he gave us the gift of salvation.
Although no one is quite sure if the legend of the candy cane is really true, the beauty of the legend is such a reminder of God’s love for us around Christmas. In this legend, it was a way that the candy maker could tell the children the story of Christmas and still today, we have candy canes as a reminder of the real reason we celebrate Christmas. |

Library Assistant!!
We love the new dress, and it will be good for our school uniform, we just want to lengthen the sleeves about 1/2 of an inch or so. they just need to be a little longer. TA always makes some kind of hair accessory for us so that we can use it if we choose. This one has a cute bow. The pattern was really well shared, and the pieces fit together great. We love her patterns so far that we have sewn. We just need to figure out getting the pleats all the way down the skirt for the uniforms. | We think the buckle and belt add a lot of charm to the dress too, and the collar is cute. It does not tie well so we just tacked it down. I really like this dress and it went together easy. We love the fabric and of course I love the red. We are very happy with the pattern and cannot wait to make the school uniforms this spring. We are all excited to see our new uniforms and wish we did not have to wait until next year to wear them. |
TA loves that it has a metal frame and that it is able to sew through denim and heavy fabrics, it should last well through all her sewing. This one has a 25-year limited warranty and a 4-year total warranty. We are going to make sure that they fix it if it dies. LOL!! TA just uses it all day almost every day, so they seem to wear out faster. She loves to sew now, and we need winter dresses |

May Day Parade!!
The first photo is with the jacket snapped on, it is a simple dress pattern and jacket set. It is cute, but the fully lined jacket while a nice jacket seems quite bulky on the doll. The cotton fabric is thick two deep and seams. We try to do a hair accessory with all of our dresses, so we have something to do with our hair. With this one we made a bow to go with it. The back is a button up the back style, we did white buttons on the white top and red buttons on the skirt part to blend it all in the best we could. It fits great and makes a wonderful holiday outfit. We are not sure if we are keeping this dress or going to sell the set instead. The pattern is great and I can see TA making more of these in the future. | It is so cute though; it has a small place at the bottom which has a longer fold over, and she used white bows since it was a Christmas outfit. The overall look is adorable. The dress itself has some cute tucks on the top with buttons down the middle, and a cute collar. At first we tacked the collar down as it wanted to stick out, but after pressing and wearing it a few minutes we were able to untack it so that is peeked out over the jacket like the stock photo. |
