This is the most exciting thing in a while. And they are going to reopen it this summer. I cannot post the photos for it because of copywrite issue. I do not want to get into trouble. So here are the links to the three articles that I get this talk from. This one does not allow you to link to a post pic or anything, but just the address. So it might not look pretty but it will send you to the articles so you can see what it looks like. AMAZING!! It is called a 'thermopolium' and is the first in 80 finds. This one has been found in excellent condition after being buried in ash for 2,000 years. Amazing!! This diner they found remains in the clay pots that the ate, snails, beef, duck and many more things. That is so wild. This is an old Roman eatery and amazing to see.. It has an almost intact counter and all ready to eat places. Being a 'thermopolium' means they had a hot drink counter. It is crazy amazing. You will get tired of me saying this but it is. The fava beans that they found are beans used to change the taste of the wines back then. The counters were painted with depictions of animals and a man riding a sea creature. They had deep terra cotta jars where they would have kept the food hot and served from them. A lot like our salad bars before covid. There are so many amazing things here with the jars being excavated too and the food storage. I just shake my head at the information we can find for Pompeii. This gives us a peek into the daily life of the people of Pompeii and everyone there is excited to get to research the 'thermopolium' as they do not have one that they could dig out until now. Pompeii was filled and buried with ash and pumice. Mount Vesuvius erupted in AD79. The volcano was so fast it caught people in the fast food restaurant and food still in the containers. It killed between 2,000 and 15,000 people. They found it and started digging in the 16th century. Only opening up about two-thirds of the city. It is crazy to think that they did the fast food thing in their Roman cities. Shows just how advanced these worlds are with their hot drink and food area and all. How did it work? Our fast food did not start until the early 20th century, but around 2,000 years ago the Romans had quick food and drinks. Coffee? Tea? or Hot Wine? They have been excavating the site since 2019 and are just now finishing up. I want to go to Pompeii and visit when they open the restaurant area for visiting. The exterior was also decorated with color filled displays and painting of a nymph on a seahorse, ducks, rooster and a dog on a leash. Maybe it was a pet friendly fast food place and did not eat the dogs. YEAH!! I like that idea!! Below is the official twitter account and it has lots of great photos. Check out the fun. They even found a cistern that had a water fountain in front of the business. It is so AMAZING!! Please go out and check the articles if you like history at all. It is amazing and the photos are to die for, but I just did not feel right using them. It would probably be ok, but better safe than sorry. What an amazing thing to find in Pompeii.

God provided this machine, we were just looking right now and the one we wanted was $800. most places. We could not see spending the $800. on a machine, so we get to Brother itself and found this one we wanted for over 1/2 off. So this was a God sent sewing machine. So we got a great sewing machine and it was the last one, No more left. We used to use Nana's computer sewing machine for the embroidery until the disk that saved it on was obsolete and then the sewing part still worked so we did without the embroidery even though we wanted to do it. So now that we are needing it we are getting one and this one uses USB ports so it will be good for a while. We cannot wait.
