As the girls go into Jr High and High school they stop the packets and go into more normal school classes. They have the opportunity to take tests and figure out where they are going to fit in if they want to work ahead. The nice thing about High School and college right there on the campus.
She has a wood working class that she is making very detailed shelves, desks, and stuff for her parents and siblings. Lynsy and Logan love to work together on their projects. They are very close and do some wonderful work together. Logan and Lynsy cannot wait until they get to start taking college computer classes so they can get into more of the computer drafting. Both have software on their computers to draft on. No one is in 10th grade this year, several of our Jr. High kids should be but the school thinks it is good for them to learn to attend in a normal class in Jr. High before getting into High school with exceptions. Vienna tested into the 11th grade where she is supposed to be, and then into the college level Spanish she is taking just to use her Spanish that she has been speaking fluently for several years living down there. Tal wants to live in Honduras and work with his people when he is finished with college. He wants to be a preacher and share his love for the Lord with the children in Honduras.

We have several grades this year. starting 4th grade, and going on to 12th grade and a couple college girls. Every one attends Shadow Mountain Christian School even if they are home schooled. They have a wonderful home school program that works well for the girls who want to home school. The school runs on a packet system and the girls can stay in their age group and still do advanced work during the day. They love it. Carlyee's mom enjoys teaching her and so far Carlyee would rather be there with her mom too. She says she does not have to get up and rush doing home school. Her effort is put forth in her dance and music. Kat is a great piano player and is amazing when she dances. She wants to work in theater some day. She puts forth her best foot and fingers as her family always says. She attends three classes during the day that she is at the Jr. high school. That is the good thing about a large school system she gets the studies she needs to keep her interested in school. Kelsyee's dream is to become a FBI forensic scientist, She is working very hard to reach that goal. Brya is going to go to High school full time. She wants to be in classes with her friends for her high school years. She loves to home school, but wants to advance in her classes more than she can that way.
She is supposed to be in 7th grade this year but she advanced to 8th grade in her work. She will have the option of going into High school next year. It is a tough decision for her as she has several friends that she would like to stay with, but she knows it is a wonderful opportunity too. She is praying about it, but is not sure she wants to skip up even though she will be doing the work anyway.
It is great that the school and college is right there together and the kids can advance into college classes during their high school years when they strive to do their best and put forth the effort. I will share the rest of the kids tomorrow .. just keeping up on the news of the days .. lol
I went to my family settlement to explore this year. I have tracked my family back to Mass and so that is where I spent time this year. Looking up addresses and places that I have found from the first settlement here in New England. It was amazing to see all the history we have here.
Virginia supports a girl through World Vision in Ethiopia. She does not write as often as we write our girls but she can send things to her that we cannot send anymore now that they changed our mailing. Our letters get there and their answers come to us so much faster now. I love the new system and so does Tayla. We were so excited to see our size sheers. We use the big ones with Nana so much and love them. Now we can cut our pizza on the pizza night this week.
Oh I forgot to share some exciting news, I found some new Hedgehog fabric for my sleeping bag. It is actually the same pattern as the hedgehogs for my quilt, but with a green background and it looks so camping style I love it. We get to our motel tomorrow and after we have packed everything in I will try to post pics of the two fabrics and coordinate fabrics we got. Laters
The Scottish groom Gorden showed us around the property. They have some great jumps set up and then another area that has barrel racing and western riding. It was hard at times to understand Gordon because of his accent, but oh I loved to listen to him.
Highland Manor is not just a horse boarding business. It is a safe place for kids whose families travel for work. They own condo's or home's there at the manor and get together to do things with each other. It is a lot like our community yet different .. we will talk more about it now that we are friends with some of the kids there.
We are excited to get our horses moved and start spending time with the kids from Highland Manor, there are 15 kids living in Highland Manor, there are four boys and 11 girls staying there so we are excited to add some great friends now.
Do you have new friends that you like to spend time with now?? It is fun to have more people to do things you are interested in. I was talking to one of the girls about sewing some things and she loves to sew too. We are going to get together and share fabric and patterns. She actually makes things for her friends at Highland Manor too. I am so excited to share my love for sewing with someone else too. Tayla and I like to do everything together but she likes to bead not sew so much. This works out great. Right now we are building our website and adding those of us who live in Stonehaven Estates. We have much to share with you and with 21 of us we have a lot going on in our community. Check out our pages to learn more about each one of us. We are having a blast sharing our lives with everyone out there. Please come back and keep up with our activities. I am going to do some back posts too. Share some of what has been going on around here.
Here are Tayla and I at the driftwood beach. It was so much fun to sit on these fun creations from the water melding trees and smoothing them out. It was wild. We wanted to spend the day there, but it was getting late and we needed to go home .. we had so much fun. We drove down the Oregon coast and stopped at every quilt shop down Highway 101. Oh the fabric we saw .. .. .. and oh the fabric we bought .. .. .. LOL!!
